Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician at its Lake Ariel residential facility. The role manages daily residential operations, supports and trains the BHT team, oversees client engagement, and helps maintain a warm, positive recovery environment. The technician ensures clients and staff follow Avenues rules, policies, and procedures, and escalates concerns or crises to the Lead Behavioral Health Technician. Avenues Recovery Center at Lake Ariel is a 60-bed facility providing drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation. The center offers round-the-clock supervision and care in a supportive environment focused on dignity, compassion, openness, and healing.
Requirements
- One year of experience in the recovery field.
- If in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Warm, empathetic personality with the ability to set firm boundaries.
- Dignified, honest character that models recovery principles.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- CPR certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily residential operations, including intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, and medications.
- Train and support the BHT team in operations and responsibilities.
- Escalate concerns or crises to the Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
- Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm and positive recovery environment.
- Ensure client and BHT compliance with Avenues rules, policies, and procedures.
