North Shore Pediatric Therapy•Vernon Hills, IL
•$19 - $23•Onsite

About The Position

North Shore Pediatric Therapy is hiring a clinic-based Behavior Therapist to work one-on-one with children ages 2–12, supporting communication, independence, social skills, and confidence in ways that can carry over to home, school, and everyday life. The role is active and hands-on, involving play-based skill building, helping children with everyday tasks and transitions, and responding calmly to challenging moments such as meltdowns or elopement. The Behavior Therapist tracks progress, writes session notes for the BCBA, and communicates with the team to problem-solve and adjust support. The clinic describes its approach as assent-based and neuroaffirming, centering each child’s boundaries, individuality, autonomy, and voice. Therapists work collaboratively with clinicians including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and mental health professionals, and receive real-time coaching and mentorship. Paid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training and certification are provided during the first month, with a pay increase after certification. The organization also offers performance reviews and raises every six months, and describes career paths that may include Lead RBT or, for those pursuing further credentials, Clinical Fellowship Student, Lead ACC, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Pay starts at $19 per billable hour and increases to $22.50 upon RBT certification; increases may also reflect experience and education.
