Behavior Technician - Work with Kids - Training Provided
About The Position
Behavior Technicians work one-on-one with children with autism, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). They use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors. Comprehensive training is provided, and prior experience is not required. The role involves working with children who may be unpredictable and potentially confrontational. It requires frequent movement and comfort with standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting, as well as lifting or carrying children or objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children and their families.
Requirements
- Passionate about helping children with autism.
- Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a tuberculosis test if one has not been completed in the last year.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Ability to move in various positions, including sitting, squatting, and bending.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
