Before School Group Leader
About The Position
AlphaBEST Education is hiring a Before School Group Leader at Earl Boyles Elementary School in Portland, Oregon. The role leads students through before-school enrichment activities, prioritizes child safety, maintains a clean and organized space, and supports an inclusive environment. The Group Leader builds relationships with children, families, teammates, and school staff. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 or 8:30 a.m., with possible substitute work in the afternoon from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The role may suit educators seeking a few additional hours or an opportunity to develop leadership skills. AlphaBEST provides training and tools.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs.
- Must successfully complete a background check as required by Oregon childcare licensing regulations.
Nice To Haves
- 240 or more documented hours of experience working with children is preferred.
- Experience in teaching or classroom leadership, youth programs, staff supervision or team leadership, or as an elementary education college student.
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
- Make child safety the top priority and follow procedures.
- Keep the space clean and organized.
- Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
- Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
