Before and After School Group Leader
About The Position
AlphaBEST is hiring a part-time Group Leader to guide students in before- and after-school programs at Tewksbury Elementary School in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The role leads fun learning activities and adventures in fitness, the arts, technology, and other areas, with training and support provided. The Group Leader works with peers to encourage students’ creativity, curiosity, interests, and talents, while fostering a caring, family-oriented environment and positive relationships among staff, children, and parents. The schedule is Monday through Friday and requires availability for both morning and afternoon sessions: 6:45–8:30 a.m. and 3:00–6:00 p.m. Weekends are not required. Pay is $18.00 per hour. A $300 hiring bonus is advertised.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs and availability Monday through Friday for both morning and afternoon sessions.
- Registration and full clearance from the state childcare licensing agency.
- Proof of qualifying experience through one of the following: a related bachelor's or associate's degree; a one-year state- or nationally recognized credential related to school-age care; 20 semester credits or 30 quarter credits of college/university training plus at least one year of qualifying teaching experience in a certified childcare center or comparable group care program; or at least two years of qualifying teaching experience, including at least one year as a teacher, in a certified childcare center or comparable group care program.
