About The Position

AlphaBEST Education is hiring a Group Leader for its before- and after-school programs at Newell Elementary School. The programs provide extended-day, summer, and enrichment activities intended to inspire and engage students in a fun, safe environment. The Group Leader leads students through daily curriculum activities and helps create supportive, inclusive before- and after-school experiences. The role offers hands-on experience, training, and opportunities to develop leadership skills while working with children and collaborating with a team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to work in a classroom setting involving regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Enjoy working with children in a structured, high-energy environment.
• Take child safety seriously and follow procedures closely.
• Be flexible, reliable, and ready to help wherever needed.

Nice To Haves

• Studies in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, Recreation, or Youth Development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
• Make child safety the top priority and follow procedures.
• Keep the program space clean and organized.
• Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
• Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
