About The Position

AlphaBEST Education is seeking a Group Leader for its extended-day program at Castro Valley Elementary School in Castro Valley, California. The program offers engaging before- and after-school activities in a fun, safe environment, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts. The Group Leader leads students through daily curriculum activities, prioritizes child safety, maintains an organized space, and helps create a supportive and inclusive environment. The role involves building relationships with students, families, teammates, and school staff. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. and/or 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.; weekends are not required. AlphaBEST describes the position as an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and training relevant to education, leadership, or other career paths.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one of the following: an associate's degree or higher; completion of at least 48 semester college units; or successful completion of the ParaEducator Assistant Exam.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
At least 6 months of teaching experience in a licensed childcare center.
Enjoy working with children in a structured, high-energy environment.
Take child safety seriously and follow procedures closely.
Be flexible, reliable, and ready to help wherever needed.
