About The Position

AlphaBEST Education provides extended-day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students as they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment. The Group Leader helps create meaningful before- and after-school experiences that help children learn, grow, and thrive. The role is located at Florence Bowser Elementary School in Suffolk, Virginia, and offers morning and afternoon shifts Monday through Friday. The posting lists pay as $16.00 per hour in the opening details and $18.00 per hour in the Pay & Benefits section.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent/GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• At least 6 months of experience instructing children in a group setting.
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
• Make child safety the top priority at all times.
• Keep the space clean and organized.
• Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
• Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
