About The Position

As a member of Nordstrom’s Beauty Department, you will create personalized beauty experiences and help customers feel their best. You will engage customers to understand their needs and maximize sales for on-trend and luxury beauty brands. The role is suited to someone passionate about beauty trends, makeup, and skincare who can build a customer following in-store and digitally. You will provide beauty services and product recommendations, contribute to an inclusive and welcoming team environment, achieve sales goals through in-store and digital selling, support events and services, and keep the department organized and customer-ready. You will stay current on beauty products and industry knowledge through Nordstrom and brand-partner training, and handle sales transactions while building customer loyalty. The posted pay range is $20.45–$21.25 per hour. Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales roles typically receive 3% commission. The position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses. Requirements

Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare.
Excellent ability to connect with customers, proactively handle customer concerns, and contribute to a positive team environment.
Empathy and respect for all customers, providing a supportive environment during makeup and skincare application.
Strong multitasking, organization, and follow-through skills.
Drive to achieve sales goals, with interest in using networking and technology.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to remain in continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Conduct makeup applications and skincare analyses, and recommend products based on customers’ beauty goals.
Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers.
Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling, using selling tools including text and social media.
Book appointments and drive sales for in-store Beauty events and services.
Maintain department organization and cleanliness so it remains customer-ready.
Keep current on beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through trainings provided by Nordstrom and brand partners.
Manage sales, refunds, and exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
