About The Position

CVS Health is seeking a sales-oriented Beauty Sales Consultant to serve as the primary beauty advisor in the store’s beauty zone. The consultant provides friendly, knowledgeable, personalized sales service, uses beauty and product knowledge to meet customer needs, and builds customer relationships through follow-up and effective selling. The role also supports product education, promotions, displays, merchandising, and the cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned area. Consultants complete onboarding and continuing training, execute sales plans, track progress toward sales goals, and maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policies and guidelines. The position requires standing or moving throughout most of the work period, reaching and handling objects, and performing tasks requiring manual dexterity, including ear piercing. The role is full-time, with 40 anticipated weekly hours and a flexible retail schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours.

Requirements

Sales-oriented.
Ability to use sales data together with product and brand knowledge to meet sales and beauty service goals.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and quickly learn new procedures.
Availability for a flexible retail schedule, potentially including mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours.
Ability to perform the tasks listed in the job description.
Willingness and ability to perform ear-piercing services in applicable stores; training and certification are provided.
At least 18 years old.
Ability to stand or move throughout the store for most of the work time; stoop, kneel or crouch; reach or grasp objects, including items on lower shelves; and perform manual-dexterity tasks such as ear piercing.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Bilingual English and Spanish ability is required for beauty advisors in specific CVS stores.

Responsibilities

Provide personalized beauty sales service based on customer needs, including upselling, suggestive selling, and follow-up to build lasting relationships.
Engage customers in conversation, listen to their needs, and provide specialized sales advice.
Use verbal skills and product knowledge to answer customer questions and support sales.
Educate customers about product usage and benefits, including through the CVS beauty monthly sampling program.
Represent company sales programs and events, discuss CVS Beauty Club programs, invite customers to in-store events, and explain promotions.
Create and maintain product displays, end caps, and beauty-specific promotional materials.
Keep the assigned beauty zone clean, stocked, well-merchandised, and compliant with hygiene standards.
Follow CVS policies for tester sanitation, hazardous waste disposal, and tool cleansing.
Complete initial 30/60/90-day onboarding and ongoing training and educational programs.
Execute the established sales plan, meet the sales budget, and track progress toward sales goals.
Participate in sales training meetings and conference calls about programs, promotions, new items, brand launches, sales goals, and customer care.
Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company guidelines.
Keep current with beauty trends and techniques and continue developing product knowledge and client service skills.
Perform ear-piercing services in stores as required, after training and certification.
