About The Position

The Seasonal Beauty Advisor (BA) provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by determining individual needs, performing cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The role supports the leadership team through a focus on sales and in-store events, guest service, and adherence to operating procedures and compliance standards. It requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

The Beauty Advisor contributes to store sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and shrink goals. The role includes engaging guests, recommending products and services, handling transactions and online orders, performing makeup applications and skincare analyses, supporting appointments and events, maintaining product knowledge, and participating in training. Advisors also replenish and maintain their work areas, support store operations and inventory activities, follow policies and loss-prevention practices, and uphold store cleanliness and standards.

This seasonal position requires a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work involves continuous mobility and coordination throughout the store, frequent standing and bending, and lifting, carrying, or moving up to 25 pounds. The pay range is $15.00–$20.00 per hour; exact pay depends on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime as required by law. Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
• Passion for guest service and competency in selling.
• Proficiency with basic technology, such as point-of-sale systems and Apple devices.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements described, including mobility throughout the store and lifting, carrying, or moving up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
• Greet and engage guests, personalize service, answer questions, explain promotions, and recommend complementary products or services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations.
• Book appointments and support services and in-store events.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services and learn their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
• Support an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
• Explain the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Collaborate with store managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing brand and category training.
• Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
• Replenish, sign, and face the assigned work area and ensure testers are available.
• Maintain store cleanliness and standards in the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, display work, physical inventory, and shipment processing and unloading using company technology and practices.
• Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
• Complete other operational tasks as directed.
