About The Position

The Seasonal Beauty Advisor provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by identifying their needs, conducting cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The position supports the leadership team by contributing to sales and in-store event performance, providing guest service, and following operating procedures and compliance standards. It requires a passion for the beauty industry, strong guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

The advisor helps meet store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink. They greet and assist guests, personalize recommendations, answer questions about products and services, explain promotions, handle customer transactions and online orders, and perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations. They also book appointments and support services and in-store events.

The role includes collaborating with teammates, participating in ongoing training, following company policies and dress standards, replenishing and maintaining assigned areas, keeping the store clean, and assisting with merchandising, inventory, shipment processing, and loss prevention. The position requires a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves continuous mobility and frequent physical activity, including moving items up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma is preferred.
• One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated passion for guest service and competency in selling.
• Proficiency with basic technology, such as a Point of Sale system and Apple devices.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to meet the role’s physical demands, including frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting, and moving up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
• Greet and engage guests, personalize service, answer questions, explain promotions, and recommend products and services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations.
• Book appointments and support services and in-store events.
• Stay informed about products and services and learn their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Support an inclusive environment and share information about the guest loyalty program, credit, and Ulta Beauty app.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business and participate in ongoing training.
• Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
• Replenish, sign, and face the assigned work area and ensure testers are available.
• Maintain store cleanliness and standards across the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
• Assist with merchandise resets, planograms, displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing using company technology and best practices.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
• Complete other operational tasks as directed.
