About The Position

The Beauty Advisor, also known as a Cosmetic Sales Colleague, is a trusted beauty expert who creates personalized, inspiring shopping experiences that build customer confidence and drive sales. The role provides expert product advice, demonstrations, tailored consultations that may include makeup application, and skincare recommendations. The colleague stays current on products, innovations, and trends, and builds lasting client relationships through follow-up, virtual outreach, and personalized service, with the goal of exceeding customer expectations and sales goals. The Beauty Advisor helps maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable sales floor; stays informed about sales goals, new arrivals, popular products, trends, and promotions; and offers warm, personal customer service. The role also supports merchandise moves, refreshes signage and pricing, promotes loyalty program benefits, and collaborates with colleagues to achieve individual and store results. This is a part-time position at the MAC counter in Los Cerritos Center. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week, based on business needs and availability. Schedules include weekend shifts and may include days, evenings, and holidays. The role requires at least one year of customer service or selling experience and includes frequent standing, movement, reaching, lifting, and use of computers and register technology.

Requirements

At least 1 year of customer service or selling experience.

Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
Ability to stand for at least two consecutive hours; lift at least 25 pounds; and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach, including above eye level.
Ability to talk, lift, move constantly, stand, and reach with arms and hands.
Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Ability to frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalized beauty experiences by building customer relationships, identifying customer needs, demonstrating product application, and explaining beauty product benefits and use.
Provide expert beauty advice, product demonstrations, makeup application, and skincare recommendations as appropriate.
Build and manage a loyal client base through consistent follow-up, virtual outreach, and personalized service.
Meet and surpass daily sales goals by delivering exceptional customer service.
Drive sales and client loyalty by maintaining an organized, shoppable space; using clienteling tools to promote offers and product launches; participating in sales events; and completing ongoing training and vendor education.
Keep current on new arrivals, top-selling items, trends, promotions, and product innovations.
Maintain the counter and sales floor, refresh signage and pricing, and assist with merchandise moves as needed.
Share loyalty program benefits and acquire new customers by opening credit accounts.
Use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to process transactions and enhance the shopping experience.
Support colleagues with honesty, care, and collaboration and contribute to individual and store results.
Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality and follow applicable employment policies and safety procedures.
