About The Position

As a member of Nordstrom's Beauty Department, the Beauty Advisor creates personalized beauty experiences and helps customers feel their best. The role involves understanding customer needs, recommending products, and maximizing sales across on-trend and luxury beauty brands. The advisor contributes to a passionate, inclusive team and builds customer relationships and a following both in-store and digitally.

Requirements

• Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare.
• Ability to connect with customers, proactively handle customer concerns, and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Empathy and respect for all customers, providing a supportive environment during makeup and skincare applications.
• Strong multitasking, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Drive to achieve sales goals and interest in using networking and technology.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to remain in continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to handle bulky or awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Conduct makeup applications and skincare analyses, and recommend products based on customers’ beauty goals.
• Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers.
• Set and achieve in-store and digital sales goals using selling tools, including text and social media.
• Book appointments and drive sales for in-store Beauty events and services.
• Maintain department organization and cleanliness so it is customer-ready.
• Stay current on beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through Nordstrom and brand-partner training.
• Manage sales, refunds, and exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening Nordstrom Rewards accounts.
