About The Position

The Beach Attendant helps provide a comfortable and enjoyable beach experience for hotel guests and the general public. The role includes maintaining a clean beach and pool area, providing towel, chair, and umbrella service for a fee, storing beach equipment, managing towel inventory, monitoring beach activity, and reporting safety concerns or damage. The attendant is expected to be neat, presentable, courteous, helpful, punctual, and attentive to safety. Staffing from 8 a.m. to 5 or 6 p.m., or until sundown depending on the season, is subject to in-house hotel screening.

Requirements

Neat and presentable appearance and a pleasant personality.
Ability to work on foot for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively; English and Spanish are preferred.
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.
Ability to work according to the posted schedule and report to work on time.

Responsibilities

Rake and clean the beach throughout the shift and before leaving each day.
Provide towel, chair, and umbrella service to hotel guests and/or the public for a fee.
Store beach equipment at the end of each shift.
Issue and return used towels to the property and take inventory at the beginning and end of each day.
Monitor beach activity and report issues to the property in a daily log.
Participate in hotel staffing meetings when necessary.
Watch for safety hazards, including broken glass, frayed electrical cords, broken locks, and suspicious persons, and report them to security and/or the direct supervisor.
Follow safety standards at all times.
Report to work on time and according to the posted schedule.
Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and co-workers.
Keep all areas free of debris and trash, skim the pool, and keep furniture clean and in good repair.
Report damaged furniture or other damage.
