About The Position
The Bartender is responsible for setting up, maintaining the cleanliness of, and breaking down the assigned bar area. The role includes knowing recipes, accurately ringing in products, and handling cash and credit-card transactions. Bartenders create a fun, friendly, and exciting experience for members while following Legends Hospitality and TABC standards for responsible alcohol service. Other duties may be assigned. The position requires excellent customer service and knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine, including their preparation, flavor profiles, and proper service. The Bartender must communicate effectively, build productive relationships, adapt to changing circumstances, manage multiple tasks, and work independently or as part of a team. Menu planning and development are also required.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a high-volume bar.
- Current T.A.B.C. certification.
- Fluent in English.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Extensive knowledge of classic and modern cocktail recipes and ability to develop unique cocktails.
- Understanding of cocktail balance and flavor profiles.
- In-depth knowledge of spirits, including production processes.
- Understanding of beer types, brewing processes, and proper serving techniques.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, regions, and proper wine service.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate honestly and effectively and build positive working relationships.
- Ability to respond effectively to changing trends and circumstances and adjust based on past mistakes.
- Ability to manage people and resources, multitask, and maintain order.
- Detail-oriented; able to work independently and/or in a team environment.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds without aid.
- Ability to stand for extended periods without aid and to stand or walk for varying lengths of time.
- Must be available to work an irregular schedule, including extended hours, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
