About The Position

Bartenders create a spirit of excellence and fun and help provide guests with an indulgent experience. They use broad knowledge of bar and menu offerings to make recommendations, prepare drinks consistently according to recipes and guidelines, and complete orders promptly. They maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area in a fast-paced environment while providing superior guest service.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 1 year of bartending experience with a full bar.
• ServSafe and alcohol-training certifications are required.
• Ability to use the Vista Point of Sale System and perform basic math.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with employees, guests, and management.
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle difficult or stressful situations positively.
• Flexible availability, including nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests at the bar promptly with a smile and warm hospitality.
• Take food and beverage orders rapidly and accurately, using selling opportunities with each guest.
• Know bar and menu items and make recommendations.
• Check patrons’ identification to verify they meet the minimum age requirement of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages.
• Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes for servers, bar patrons, and guests in the lobby and lounge.
• Clean as you go, including glasses, utensils, and bar equipment, and bus tables.
• Follow alcohol-service and safety practices, including limiting alcohol service to designated areas, not over-serving intoxicated guests, and seeking management intervention when necessary.
• Set up and maintain appropriate bar stock levels.
• Keep the Bar Supervisor informed about inventory levels.
• Wash and sanitize all stemware.
• Process payments correctly and promptly.
• Handle guest complaints and requests, or direct guests to the appropriate resource when unable to assist.
• Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, including side work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
