About The Position

At Sonesta International Hotels, the Bartender delivers exceptional beverage service and hospitality in bars, lounges, and other outlets, creating a welcoming, upbeat experience and memorable moments for guests. The role suits someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, connecting with people, and crafting cocktails and guest experiences. The Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, provides guest service, and supports restaurant, lounge, banquet, and event operations. The position also involves maintaining bar cleanliness and organization, processing transactions, assisting with inventory and setup, following safety and alcohol-service standards, and collaborating with food and beverage colleagues. This is a seasonal position with flexible availability needed for evenings, weekends, holidays, and events as required.

Requirements

Previous bartending, restaurant, hotel, lounge, nightlife, or hospitality experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and responsible alcohol service practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Experience using POS systems and handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event support as needed.
Passion for hospitality, teamwork, guest experience, and creating memorable food and beverage moments.

Nice To Haves

TIPS Certification, Food Handler Certification, or alcohol service certification where required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, brand standards, and guest preferences.
Engage with guests, make recommendations, and create a welcoming atmosphere.
Maintain knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and beverage menus.
Work efficiently during high-volume restaurant, lounge, banquet, and event service periods.
Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve concerns professionally and promptly.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in bar and service areas.
Process orders, payments, tabs, and transactions accurately using POS systems.
Assist with bar setup, inventory, garnishes, stock replenishment, and opening and closing duties.
Follow food safety guidelines, responsible alcohol service standards, and hotel operational procedures.
Partner with Servers, Culinary teams, and Food & Beverage leadership to support operations and guest satisfaction.
Support upselling initiatives, promotions, and beverage programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
