About The Position

As a Bartender at Sonesta International Hotels, you will provide exceptional beverage service and hospitality while creating a welcoming, upbeat experience for guests. The role involves preparing and serving drinks, engaging with guests, and supporting bar operations in a fast-paced environment across restaurant, lounge, banquet, and event service periods. The position is seasonal and requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event support as needed.

Requirements

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Experience using POS systems and handling cash transactions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event support as needed.
• Passion for hospitality, teamwork, guest experience, and creating memorable food and beverage experiences.

Nice To Haves

• Previous bartending, restaurant, hotel, lounge, nightlife, or hospitality experience.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and responsible alcohol service practices.
• TIPS Certification, Food Handler Certification, or alcohol service certification where required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, brand standards, and guest preferences.
• Engage with guests, make recommendations, and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Maintain knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and beverage menus.
• Work efficiently during high-volume restaurant, lounge, banquet, and event service periods.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve concerns professionally and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in bar and service areas.
• Process orders, payments, tabs, and transactions accurately using POS systems.
• Assist with bar setup, inventory, garnishes, stock replenishment, and opening and closing duties.
• Follow food safety guidelines, responsible alcohol service standards, and hotel procedures.
• Work with Servers, Culinary teams, and Food & Beverage leadership to support smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Support upselling initiatives, promotions, and beverage programs that drive guest engagement and revenue.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
