About The Position

As a Bartender at Hotel Effie, you will craft a variety of beverages, serve them directly to customers or through wait staff, and ensure a well-managed bar operation. You will mix drinks, maintain inventory, and deliver excellent customer service in an upscale setting. Bartenders help create a memorable guest experience through cocktails and connections with guests.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
Problem-solving skills for handling standardized situations.
Ability to stand and move at a steady pace for at least five hours.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, and maneuver among multiple simultaneous functions.
Ability to lift items weighing up to 50–100 lbs. as needed.
Ability to grasp, stand, walk, bend, climb, listen, hear, and see with near vision and depth perception.
Manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment.

Responsibilities

Take orders from customers or bar waiters/waitresses.
Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and bitters to prepare cocktails and drinks.
Serve wine, draft or bottled beer, and soft drinks.
Collect money for drinks and maintain accurate records.
Monitor inventory and order liquor and supplies when levels are low.
Arrange bottles and glasses for attractive display.
Slice and prepare fruit for drink garnishes.
Serve food as requested by customers.
Serve drinks in accordance with Florida Beverage Laws.
Upsell drinks and liquor to customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
