About The Position

Palm House is seeking a Seasonal Bartender to create expertly prepared beverages and deliver warm, personalized service. This role combines strong cocktail knowledge, precise execution, and engaging hospitality to make every visit to the bar memorable. The ideal candidate is a confident hospitality professional who balances craftsmanship with efficiency, anticipates guest preferences, and maintains an inviting, polished bar environment. Whether preparing a classic cocktail or recommending a new favorite, the Bartender brings care and consistency to every interaction. This position is seasonal, with employment anticipated from October through May. Employment is expected to conclude at the end of the seasonal period.

Requirements

  • Previous bartending experience required; luxury hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and nonalcoholic beverages.
  • Proficiency in beverage preparation, accurate measuring, and presentation.
  • Familiarity with bar setup, inventory control, and safe equipment use.
  • Experience using point-of-sale systems and processing payments.
  • Understanding of responsible alcohol service, food safety, sanitation, and allergy precautions.
  • Ability to complete or maintain required training and certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional demeanor.
  • Passion for beverage quality and personalized guest service.
  • Ability to manage multiple orders while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong organization and attention to cleanliness and presentation.
  • Sound judgment when handling guest concerns and alcohol service situations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare classic cocktails, signature drinks, and nonalcoholic beverages according to approved recipes and presentation standards.
  • Serve wines, beers, and spirits using appropriate glassware, portions, and techniques.
  • Maintain knowledge of beverage selections, ingredients, flavor profiles, and food pairings.
  • Prepare garnishes and other beverage ingredients using approved food safety practices.
  • Deliver consistent quality while managing orders from bar guests and service teams.
  • Accommodate preferences and approved modifications while following allergy procedures.
  • Welcome guests warmly and create an attentive, comfortable bar experience.
  • Recommend beverages and menu items based on guest interests and preferences.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them promptly into the point-of-sale system.
  • Coordinate food service for bar guests with the culinary and service teams.
  • Anticipate needs, maintain the bar top, and follow through on requests.
  • Address concerns professionally and involve a manager when appropriate.
  • Complete opening duties and ensure the bar is clean, stocked, and ready for service.
  • Replenish spirits, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, ice, and glassware throughout the shift.
  • Follow storage, labeling, rotation, and temperature-control procedures.
  • Use accurate pours and record spills, waste, and breakage according to hotel procedures.
  • Assist with inventory counts and communicate shortages or equipment concerns.
  • Complete closing duties, clean equipment, and secure beverage inventory as directed.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service procedures, including identification checks and appropriate escalation of service concerns.
  • Monitor consumption and involve management when service must be declined or discontinued.
  • Process payments accurately and follow cash-handling, room-charge verification, and payment security procedures.
  • Work closely with Servers, Server Assistants, Culinary, and Food & Beverage leadership.
  • Participate in pre-shift briefings, tastings, and training.
  • Uphold Palm House standards for sanitation, professional appearance, and Forbes-aligned service.
