About The Position

The Bartender provides friendly, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to guests. The role prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, takes orders, describes menu items, maintains bar inventory and equipment, and supports the cleanliness and operation of the outlet. The position also handles payments, assists guests and coworkers, and follows company, safety, security, and alcohol-service policies. Duties may include other reasonable tasks assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education.
One to three years of high-volume bar experience.
Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol.
Safe Server Alcohol and Food Handlers certifications are required.
California RBS Certification is required.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
Good verbal and written communication skills, excellent customer-relations and leadership capability, and strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic computer and computational skills, including knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate knowledge of table and bar service, spirits, beer, wine, and flavor profiles.
Ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers, exercise patience, tact, and diplomacy, and collect accurate information to resolve conflicts.
Ability to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests and servers for table delivery.
Take beverage and food orders at the bar, describe menu items, and suggest products to customers.
Restock bar inventory and supplies and provide opening and closing inventories of spirits.
Secure liquor, beer, and wine products appropriately.
Assist with recipe batching, ice molding, liquor infusions, and washing and preparing garnishes.
Keep taps, coolers, blenders, coffee makers, and other appliances clean and in working order.
Verify customer identification and ensure customers meet the legal drinking age; do not serve minors or intoxicated persons.
Act as a cashier for servers when necessary.
Maintain bar cleanliness by disposing of waste, clearing and cleaning glassware, and wiping down bar and preparation areas.
Assist servers, other bartenders, and barbacks as needed and participate in deep cleaning the outlet.
Operate a cash register, receive cash or credit-card payments, provide accurate change, and follow customer-service and cash-handling procedures.
Assist guests professionally and courteously and respond to guest inquiries.
Follow company safety and security policies and report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by direct or indirect supervisors.
Maintain regular attendance, attend scheduled training sessions and meetings, and comply with company rules and grooming and uniform standards.
