About The Position

The Bartender provides guests with a spectacular bar experience through a friendly, outgoing personality and excellent communication. The role involves preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, creating drinks in line with the menu and guests’ needs, and maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and well-stocked bar. The Bartender must meet state legal-age requirements for serving liquor and pass the TIPs/ABC Alcohol test with a score of 70% or better.

Requirements

• Must be of legal age to serve liquor under state law.
• Pass the TIPs/ABC Alcohol test with a score of 70% or better.
• Basic mathematical skills to handle money and give proper change.
• Basic reading skills.
• Basic computer skills, including POS handling.
• Solid knowledge of beer and wine and familiarity with cocktail recipes.
• Strong communication skills.
• Understanding of Barcelona's food and beverage specifications.
• Comprehension of workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to walk and stand for the entirety of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, and carry.
• Ability to remain stationary for parts of a scheduled shift.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Prior restaurant experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Interact with customers, take orders, and serve food and drinks.
• Assess guests’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
• Keep the bar organized, stocked, and clean.
• Check guests’ identification and confirm they meet the legal drinking age.
• Monitor and control guests’ alcohol consumption to ensure their safety.
• Communicate with and attend to guests in a timely manner.
• Work with others to keep all areas clean and stocked to company standards.
• Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
