About The Position

The Apex Grille at M1 Concourse's X Center is looking for experienced, engaging bartenders for our opening team. We're building a restaurant where polished service doesn't mean scripted service. We want people who can read a table, know their menu, understand pacing and make guests feel genuinely welcome. You'll develop strong knowledge of our food, cocktails, beer and wine; guide guests through the menu; communicate allergies accurately; and work closely with bartenders, runners and our culinary team. Polished-casual, upscale-casual or high-volume full-service experience is preferred. We're looking for hospitality professionals with personality, awareness, professionalism and genuine warmth. The Apex Grille | M1 Concourse's X Center | Pontiac, Michigan JOB SUMMARY The X Center Apex Grille Bartender is responsible for providing professional beverage and food service to bar guests while supporting restaurant, terrace, catering and private-event operations. This position prepares cocktails, serves beer and wine, produces beverages for the service well and provides knowledgeable recommendations while maintaining responsible alcohol-service standards. The Bartender maintains a clean, organized and fully stocked bar and contributes to a premium guest experience through attentive hospitality, product knowledge, accuracy and efficient execution. The X Center Apex Grille Bartender shall represent M1 Concourse with the highest level of professionalism and decorum.

Responsibilities

Accurately enters orders, processes payments and maintains control of assigned checks and cash-handling responsibilities.
Cleans and sanitizes bar tools, equipment, work surfaces, glassware and guest-contact areas at required intervals.
Completes assigned beverage preparation, batching and garnish production according to approved recipes and anticipated service volume.
Completes assigned opening, transition, closing duties - including cleaning, restocking, product storage and securing the bar.
Cross-trains to provide limited table service and assists restaurant servers during peak periods.
Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions, product-quality concerns, spills, breakage, safety hazards and supply shortages promptly.
Maintains a clean, organized and sanitary bar, service well, storage area and guest-facing environment throughout the shift.
Maintains compliance with M1 Concourse policies, Apex Grille procedures and applicable alcohol-service, health, sanitation and safety requirements.
Maintains established product, glassware and supply pars and communicates replenishment or shortage concerns promptly.
Maintains working knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer, wine, nonalcoholic offerings and applicable food pairings.
Monitors glassware for cleanliness, damage and appropriate use and removes chipped or broken items from service.
Monitors guest consumption and behavior, declines or discontinues alcohol service when appropriate and promptly involves management when assistance is needed.
Prepares cocktails and other beverages according to approved recipes, portion standards and presentation requirements.
Serves beer, wine, spirits and nonalcoholic beverages using appropriate glassware and service procedures.
Produces accurate and timely beverage orders for restaurant servers through the service well.
Provides knowledgeable beverage recommendations based on guest preferences, menu selections and available products.
Rotates, labels, dates and stores beverage products, garnishes and prepared ingredients according to established procedures.
Sets up the bar before service, including equipment, tools, glassware, products, ice, garnishes, mixes and other required supplies.
Supports terrace beverage service, catering bars, private events and other beverage-service locations as assigned.
Supports catering bars and private events and provides limited table service and assistance to restaurant servers as operational needs require.
Takes, enters food orders for bar guests and coordinates with culinary and service Team Members to ensure accurate delivery.
Verifies guest identification and follows all responsible alcohol-service requirements.
Welcomes bar guests promptly and provides attentive, professional and personalized beverage and food service.
Performs all other duties as may be required and assigned.
