About The Position

Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center is seeking a team member for its Food and Beverage Team. The Bartender serves beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner to support guest satisfaction. The role also includes preparing beverages for other servers and acting as cashier for the bar.

The Bartender maintains an adequately set-up bar by requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet. The position maintains stock and cuts and stores fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality. It also involves greeting guests, promoting and documenting drink orders, mixing and presenting drinks according to standard recipes and portion control, and handling cash and credit card transactions through the point-of-sale system.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience as a Bartender.
• Food handler certification and TIPS certification, or equivalent.
• Passion for the hospitality industry and pride in providing superior customer service and memorable guest experiences.
• Availability to work a variety of days, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.
• Prepare beverages for other servers and act as cashier for the bar.
• Maintain proper bar setup and requisition and stock supplies based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
• Maintain stock and cut and store fresh garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
• Greet guests courteously and in a friendly manner, and promote and document drink orders.
• Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and prudent portion control.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions using the point-of-sale system, creating a check for each guest to maintain accountability for beverages served.
