Day-time Barista
About The Position
The Barista helps carry out and model Scooter’s mission, principles, and touchstones. This role calls for a positive attitude, a passion for the food and beverage industry, and enjoyment of working with people. Baristas contribute to an energetic team focused on providing excellent customer service. The Barista prepares and serves specialty coffee and tea beverages, follows recipes and presentation standards for food and beverage items, and interacts with new and returning customers. The role also involves understanding appropriate up-selling techniques, maintaining a clean and sanitized workstation, following health and safety guidelines, and performing other functions as directed. The position requires professional and tactful interactions with customers and coworkers, strong interpersonal communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced environment while multitasking and prioritizing. Baristas must be flexible, punctual, dependable, reliable, and able to contribute to a positive team environment. Physical requirements include regularly exerting less than 5 pounds of force and occasionally exerting up to 25 pounds. The job involves substantial reaching, standing, walking, talking, and hearing, as well as sufficient visual acuity to assess work accuracy and inspect the work area. The environment has mild to moderate noise levels. This role is with a Scooter’s Coffee franchisee. If hired, the franchisee is the employee’s sole employer and independently sets employment terms, including wages and benefits, which may vary by franchisee.
Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Must be able to deal professionally and tactfully with customers and coworkers at all times.
- Must have good interpersonal communication skills.
- Must work efficiently in a quick-paced environment requiring multitasking and prioritization.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and reliable.
- Must be able to contribute to a positive team environment.
- Must be able to regularly exert less than 5 pounds of force and occasionally exert up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to perform substantial reaching, standing, walking, talking, and hearing.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to assess work accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness and to make general inspections of the work area.
