About The Position

The Barista helps carry out and model Scooter’s mission, principles, and touchstones. This role calls for a positive attitude, passion for the food and beverage industry, and enjoyment of working with people. As part of an energetic team of food and beverage enthusiasts, the Barista helps provide excellent customer service. The position involves preparing and serving specialty coffee and tea beverages, following recipes and presentation standards, interacting with customers, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Scooter’s Coffee was established in 1998 and describes its ingredients as sustainably sourced. The applicant will work for a Scooter’s Coffee franchisee, which will be the sole employer if the applicant is hired. Franchisees independently set employment terms, including wages and benefits, which may vary.

Requirements

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Must be able to deal professionally and tactfully with customers and coworkers.
• Must have good interpersonal communication skills.
• Must work efficiently in a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking and prioritization.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Must be punctual, dependable, and reliable.
• Must contribute to a positive team environment.
• Must be able to perform major amounts of reaching, standing, walking, talking, and hearing.
• Must have sufficient visual acuity to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work and make general inspections of the work area.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make and serve specialty coffee and tea beverages.
• Follow recipes and presentation standards for food and beverage items.
• Speak and interact with new and regular customers.
• Use appropriate up-selling techniques.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation.
• Follow health and safety guidelines.
