Part-Time Barista

About The Position

Baristas take customer orders and prepare coffee, tea, and other drinks to customer specifications. They also operate cash registers and credit card machines while providing customer service at Kimpton Miralina Resort.

Requirements

Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand for the entire shift.
Ability to perform constant reaching, turning, and precision work.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with associates and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
Multitask and prioritize to ensure outstanding service.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards and scheduling needs.
Must be available to work some weekends.

Responsibilities

Maintain a calm demeanor during high-volume periods or unusual events, keeping operations to standard and setting a positive example for the shift team.
Anticipate customer and store needs by evaluating the environment and customers for cues.
Communicate information to the manager so the team can respond and create a warm, welcoming environment during each shift.
Assist with training new partners by reinforcing successful performance and offering respectful, encouraging coaching as needed.
Deliver outstanding customer service by prioritizing customers, connecting with them, and discovering and responding to their needs.
Follow Starbucks and property operational policies and procedures, including cash-handling, safety, and security practices.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace so associates can locate resources and products.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Prepare quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently, following recipe and presentation standards.
Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
Attend required hotel meetings and training.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance, uniform, and grooming.
Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
