About The Position

The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items, including catering orders. The role follows standard recipes, portioning, presentation, food-safety, and HACCP practices. The Barista enters customer orders into a point-of-sale device, processes cash and charge payments, maintains clean and orderly service areas and equipment, and provides friendly, efficient customer service. The position is part-time, with a schedule that requires availability for nights, weekdays, and weekends. Previous experience is preferred but not required; training is available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders accurately into a POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while keeping the service area clean.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greet customers courteously and interact with them to ensure satisfaction; relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
• Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
• Use selling techniques and good communication to assist customers in making purchase decisions.
• Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
