About The Position
The University of Notre Dame is hiring a full-time Barista for Cafe J, Ivan's Cafe, and Cafe on the Ave in its campus Hospitality department. The role is part of the University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety division, which supports campus hospitality, customer service, student life, academic and research initiatives, athletics, alumni, and campus celebrations. The Barista welcomes guests, prepares and serves beverages, maintains clean and organized work areas, replenishes supplies, assists with general café upkeep, and supports coworkers in delivering seamless service.
Requirements
- Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
- One to two years of barista experience.
- Positive and respectful attitude.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to remain standing for extended periods, up to six hours at a time.
- Ability to follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and anticipate their needs, providing excellent service.
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to brand standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area, including dining and preparation spaces.
- Stock and replenish supplies in service and preparation areas.
- Assist with cleaning, table arrangement, and trash removal.
- Support coworkers to ensure a seamless operation.
