About The Position

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety division is hiring a part-time Barista for Cafe J, Ivan's Cafe, and Café on the Ave within the campus Hospitality department. The Barista prepares and serves high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages to University guests and campus personnel, providing excellent service in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment while working efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with brand standards.

Requirements

• Ability to manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Positive and respectful attitude.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 6 hours at a time.
• Ability to follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, anticipate their needs, and provide excellent service.
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to brand standards.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized work areas, including dining and preparation spaces.
• Stock and replenish supplies in service and preparation areas.
• Process guest checks, handle payments, and follow accounting procedures.
• Assist with cleaning, table arrangement, and trash removal.
• Complete side work and support coworkers to help ensure seamless operations.
