About The Position

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety division is hiring a part-time Barista for Cafe J, Ivan's Cafe, and Café on the Ave within the campus Hospitality department. The role prepares and serves high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards. It is guest-facing and requires excellent service to University guests and campus personnel in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
• Have excellent communication and listening skills.
• Be able to stand for extended periods, up to six hours at a time.
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, anticipate their needs, and provide excellent service.
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to brand standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area, including dining and prep spaces.
• Stock and replenish supplies in service and prep areas.
• Process guest checks, handle payments, and follow accounting procedures.
• Assist with cleaning, table arrangement, and trash removal.
• Perform side work and support coworkers to ensure a seamless operation.
