About The Position

Fairmont Olympic Hotel is seeking a part-time Barista for its 4th Avenue Espresso Bar. The role focuses on preparing coffee and espresso drinks, providing welcoming and attentive customer service, and creating a positive guest experience in a luxury hospitality setting. The Barista also handles customer orders and payments, maintains the service area and supplies, and communicates daily menu offerings. The position requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves standing throughout the shift with intermittent walking.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Authorization to work in the USA.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Washington Food Worker Card.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers courteously, ensure their satisfaction, and bring concerns to supervisors.
• Prepare espresso orders according to established recipes and measurements while accommodating customer preferences.
• Enter customer orders accurately into the POS device and process cash or credit-card payments.
• Maintain cleanliness in the service area and restock condiments, beverages, and supplies as needed.
• Understand daily menu offerings and communicate them effectively to customers.
