SongTeller Cafe Barista (Part-Time)
About The Position
Herschend is seeking an enthusiastic and hospitable Barista for SongTeller Café, the coffee shop at Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel in downtown Nashville. The role focuses on creating excellent café experiences for guests through attentive service, proper service standards, and a positive environment for fellow hosts and vendors. The Barista will help open the coffee shop and contribute to meaningful experiences for hosts, guests, and the community while supporting the success and profitability of its offerings. The position calls for a warm, gracious spirit, a love of coffee, and the ability to drive results while following Herschend’s Heartspitality® culture. SongTeller Hotel is a hospitality venture inspired by Dolly Parton and Nashville’s music and culinary scenes. The hotel features 245 rooms, two food and beverage entertainment venues, a market, and Dolly Parton’s Museum.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical field.
- Must be able to obtain Food Handler certification.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests promptly with a professional and friendly attitude.
- Determine guests’ needs and explain the coffee and tea drink menu.
- Prepare and sell hot and cold beverages, including coffee and espresso drinks, using prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
- Sell prepared food items and use proper equipment to heat them when necessary.
- Stock and present food and beverage items to standard.
- Order or requisition food and supplies through the lead or sous chef.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with local and federal health codes.
- Use the POS accurately and handle credit card transactions as directed.
- Participate in upsell strategies as directed by management.
- Participate in daily lineups.
- Practice service standards and current training throughout service.
