About The Position

Muchacho Reynoldstown is seeking an experienced, skilled, and passionate Barista to prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages while providing exceptional customer service and helping create a welcoming environment for guests. The role includes maintaining coffee equipment and the work area, assisting with inventory and food preparation, handling transactions, and collaborating with staff to support smooth operations. Duties may include additional job-related tasks assigned by a supervisor. The essential functions are expected to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Prior experience as a Barista or in a coffee shop is preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of coffee preparation and brewing methods.
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Communication skills to connect effectively with coworkers and guests.
Ethics and a positive attitude that support the company's values and culture.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability and stamina to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Ability to stand and walk for 8–10 hours per day.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate, and key in data.
Ability to work in warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
Ability to tolerate higher noise levels from music and customer traffic.
Ability to tolerate potential allergens, including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, and soy.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
Greet customers, take orders accurately, answer questions about menu items, and provide excellent customer service.
Operate, maintain, and clean espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment.
Assist with coffee bar inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized coffee bar and work area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Stay current on coffee trends, products, and techniques and provide informed recommendations to guests.
Assist with preparing food items such as pastries and light snacks, if applicable.
Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
Communicate effectively with other staff to support smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Report to work in the required uniform and maintain a well-manicured appearance consistent with the restaurant's image.
Meet personal schedule requirements punctually and interact courteously, pleasantly, and in a friendly manner.
Perform additional job-related tasks assigned by a supervisor as needed.
