About The Position

The Barista prepares and serves drinks and food items in a warm, inviting manner while interacting with hotel guests and other patrons. The role involves developing rapport with customers by learning their names and their favorite drinks and food items, and sharing knowledge of coffee and tea regions, flavors, and blends. Prior restaurant experience is preferred, but training is available for someone eager to learn and make a positive impact on guests.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food Handler’s Permit.
• Friendly, outgoing personality and ability to interact with guests and other patrons throughout the day.
• Ability to think on your feet and work calmly under pressure.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and to walk, bend or twist, climb stairs, and occasionally carry or lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in the food and beverage industry, preferably in a restaurant.
• Desire to learn and positively impact guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve drinks and food items in a warm and inviting manner.
• Explain coffee and tea regions and differences in flavors and blends to customers.
• Take orders and convey them to team members for preparation.
• Maintain inventory by replenishing coffee beans and food supplies and stocking brewing equipment.
• Build rapport with customers by learning their names and favorite drinks and food items.
