About The Position

The Barista helps ensure that Scooter’s mission, principles, and touchstones are carried out and modeled. This role calls for a positive attitude, enthusiasm for the food and beverage industry, and enjoyment of working with people. Baristas contribute to an energetic team focused on excellent customer service.

The Barista prepares and serves specialty coffee and tea beverages, follows recipes and presentation standards, interacts with customers, and maintains a clean and sanitized workstation while following health and safety guidelines. The role also includes up-selling and other functions as directed.

This position requires working efficiently in a quick-paced environment, communicating professionally with customers and coworkers, and contributing to a positive team environment. Physical activity includes substantial reaching, standing, walking, talking, and hearing. Most exertion is low, with occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds. The work environment has mild to moderate noise.

This position is with a Scooter’s Coffee franchisee, which is the sole employer if hired and independently sets employment terms, wages, and benefits.

Requirements

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Must deal professionally and tactfully with customers and coworkers at all times.
• Must have good interpersonal communication skills.
• Must work efficiently in a quick-paced environment requiring multitasking and prioritization.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Must be punctual, dependable, and reliable.

• Must have sufficient visual acuity to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work and to make general inspections of the work area.
