About The Position

The Barista contributes to Starbucks success by providing legendary customer service and creating the Starbucks Experience through prompt service, quality beverages and products, and a clean, comfortable store environment. The role models Starbucks guiding principles and works to meet customer needs while maintaining store standards. The position is full-time at Made Market in Deadwood, South Dakota, with a day shift and an hourly salary range of $12.00–$13.00. No education level is required.

Requirements

• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Be available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Meet store operating policies and standards for product quality, cash handling, and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Engage with and understand customers, discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication.
• Prepare beverages according to standard recipes or customize them for customers, including changes to temperature, ingredient quantities, or substituted ingredients.
• Be available to perform different tasks within the store during each shift.

Responsibilities

• Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge in support of Starbucks’ culture, values, and mission.
• Maintain a calm demeanor during high-volume periods or unusual events and set a positive example for the team.
• Assist with training new partners by reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful, encouraging coaching.
• Support a positive team environment by noticing changes in partner morale or performance and communicating them to the store manager.
• Provide customer service with a customer-first attitude, connect with customers, and discover and respond to their needs.
• Follow operational policies and procedures, including cash handling, safety, and security requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace so partners can locate resources and products.
• Prepare and provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently, following recipe and presentation standards.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments using existing organizational methods.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
