About The Position
The Barista – We Proudly Serve Starbucks® prepares consistently high-quality Starbucks beverages and creates a welcoming, Guest-focused experience. The role combines beverage craftsmanship, speed, accuracy, and operational discipline to support smooth coffee venue operations while meeting Grand Casino service standards and We Proudly Serve Starbucks® brand requirements. The Barista serves Guests, prepares beverages and approved food items, handles payments, maintains product quality and cleanliness, supports inventory tasks, and collaborates with Food & Beverage team members. The position operates in a fast-paced, high-volume casino environment and requires compliance with food safety requirements, gaming regulations, uniform guidelines, and venue standards.
Requirements
- Strong Guest service, communication, and basic math skills.
- Ability to learn and apply standardized operating procedures related to beverage preparation and service.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when responding to Guest needs or operational situations.
- Must be able to secure and maintain a license from Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).
- Must comply with all Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGRs).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Use of hands to operate coffee equipment, tools, and POS systems.
- Required use of designated uniform and PPE.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Nice To Haves
- One year of prior barista or coffee shop experience preferred.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet Guests warmly and provide professional, genuine hospitality.
- Take beverage and food orders accurately and efficiently; clarify preferences and answer menu questions.
- Prepare Starbucks coffee, tea, espresso beverages, and specialty drinks according to brand standards, recipes, specifications, and portion controls.
- Provide fast, accurate, and friendly service in a high-volume environment.
- Receive payments and follow cash-handling and internal control procedures.
- Address Guest questions and concerns, escalating issues when needed to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the coffee bar, equipment, counters, and Guest areas.
- Clean and maintain espresso machines, brewers, and other equipment, and promptly report malfunctions.
- Support inventory control, restocking, product rotation, and product dating.
- Comply with food safety, sanitation, and state health regulations.
- Assist with preparation, heating, and finishing of approved food items according to standards.
- Work cooperatively with Supervisors and Food & Beverage team members to support daily operations.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings and maintain clear, professional communication throughout the shift.
- Promote a workplace culture of respect, teamwork, accountability, and mutual support.
- Assist other Food & Beverage outlets as operational needs require.
- Uphold Grand Casino service standards and venue expectations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and comply with uniform and grooming guidelines.
- Complete assigned duties with attention to safety, accuracy, and Guest impact.
