About The Position

Scheels is seeking a part-time Barista to join their team. This role involves preparing various food and drink items, including candy, baked goods, and fudge, for customers. The Barista will also perform other functions within the Café and Fuzziwigs Candy Shop, potentially including deli line, food case, grill, and ice cream duties. The position requires maintaining knowledge of recipes, adhering to food safety guidelines, and managing production deadlines. The role also involves supporting cleaning schedules, opening and closing procedures, and maintaining an orderly workspace. Specific tasks include performing repetitive fudge production processes and demonstrating effective communication skills.

Requirements

High school education, or up to one month of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Responsibilities

Prepare different types of food, drinks, and ingredients, including candy, baked goods, and fudge, for sale to customers
Perform all Barista, Café, and Fuzziwigs Candy Shop functions, which may include deli line, food case, barista, grill, ice cream, baked goods, fudge, and other duties as assigned by the Café Manager and Supervisor
Maintain working knowledge of Café recipes, beverages, and prepared foods
Meet deadlines for fudge production and customer requests
Follow all food safety guidelines by Scheels, State, and Local Ordinances
Ensure all products are received and stored according to Standard Operating Guidelines
Ensure Scheels Cashier Guidelines are followed as it pertains to Café registers
Manage and support side work, stocking, daily and detailed cleaning schedules, including machines and equipment, and opening and closing procedures
Maintain an orderly and exceptionally clean appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including dining areas
Must be able to perform repetitive fudge production processes, which include stirring, pulling, and cutting
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
