About The Position

Fresh Ideas Management is hiring a part-time Barista at Rockford University in Rockford, Illinois. The position makes and serves coffee and espresso drinks, along with related food and beverage items, while following HACCP guidelines and food-service quality standards. The Barista interacts courteously with customers and coworkers, supports customer satisfaction, and helps maintain an orderly, clean service area. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Prior barista experience is required. The pay range is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour. Responsibilities

Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
Enter orders accurately into a POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while keeping the service area clean.
Maintain proper presentation, portion control, serving temperatures, and compliance with HACCP standards.
Maintain the sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
Clean equipment and the workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
Greet customers courteously and interact with them to support customer satisfaction.
Relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with buying decisions.
Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
