About The Position

The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items, following standard recipes, portion measures, HACCP guidelines, and food-service quality standards. The role involves accurately entering customer orders and processing cash and charge payments, maintaining stocked and sanitary service areas and equipment, and presenting food and beverages attractively and at proper serving temperatures. The Barista interacts courteously with customers, answers questions about menu items, helps customers make purchase decisions, serves them efficiently, and relays relevant concerns to supervisors. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders accurately into the POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining a clean service area.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greet customers courteously and interact with them to ensure satisfaction.
• Relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
• Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
• Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with purchase decisions.
• Merchandise display foods attractively according to standards and serve food neatly and attractively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
