Nominal is seeking a Baremetal Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. This role involves building high-scale, mission-critical infrastructure for advanced hardware systems. The engineer will be responsible for deploying Nominal's software to demanding customers, including USG customers in restricted environments. Key responsibilities include owning runbooks, building deployment collateral, and collaborating with customer hardware engineers and IT teams. The role is crucial for Nominal's self-hosted and on-prem deployments, balancing customer implementations, reliability improvements, FedRAMP readiness, and infrastructure modernization, especially in constrained environments. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Linux systems, bare metal infrastructure, and deployment reliability, driving internal improvements for repeatability, observability, and scalability. This position blends DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and customer-facing infrastructure, involving tasks such as debugging networking issues, building provisioning automation, improving Kubernetes upgrades, and implementing observability features.
