About The Position

A barback is a support staff member who assists bartenders in a bar or restaurant environment. The primary role is to help the bar run smoothly by keeping it stocked, clean, and organized so bartenders can focus on serving customers and making drinks. The position is part-time at Indigo Sky Casino in Wyandotte, Oklahoma.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in the food and beverage industry.
• Above-average oral and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Problem-solving capability.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma gaming license.
• Stamina, strength, and ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more, including kegs, cases of liquor, and ice buckets.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to bend, stoop, and reach.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask during peak hours.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Keep the bar stocked with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware, napkins, straws, and other necessary supplies.
• Clean and polish glassware; wipe down bar surfaces; sweep and mop floors; and empty receptacles.
• Prepare garnishes as needed.
• Monitor ice levels and replenish ice bins as needed.
• Change kegs and ensure beer taps are functioning correctly.
• Assist with pouring drinks, taking orders, and clearing tables.
• Help set up before opening and clean up after closing.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar.
• Follow supervisors’ instructions and perform other duties as requested.
