Part-Time Banquet Server (Hospitality)
About The Position
The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety division is hiring part-time Banquet Servers for Three Leaf Catering and the Morris Inn in the campus Hospitality department. The division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations. The Banquet Server assists with setting up and tearing down banquet events. The role serves food, pours beverages, and handles guest requests in accordance with Morris Inn methods and service standards. It also includes preparing table service, removing equipment after meals, supporting coffee break service at the Notre Dame Conference Center, and keeping work areas and equipment clean and in good working condition.
Requirements
- Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Able to stand for extended periods, up to 6 hours at a time.
- Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.
Responsibilities
- Prepare table service for functions as directed by the Banquet Captain or Lead Banquet Server.
- Follow written specifications provided by the events department.
- Participate in equipment removal following meal service.
- Serve food, pour beverages, and handle guest requests professionally in accordance with Morris Inn methods and service standards.
- Follow established guidelines for safe food handling.
- Assist with coffee break service at the Notre Dame Conference Center.
- Keep the work area and equipment clean and in good working condition.
