About The Position

The Banquet Server takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests. The role includes warmly greeting guests, following established service steps, delivering orders promptly and professionally, and providing follow-up assistance. The server maintains food-safety and sanitation standards, keeps the dining room clean and properly set up before and after service, and responds to guest needs and complaints. The position also involves coordinating with back-of-house staff and other departments, handling tickets and cash according to procedures, and operating a variety of service equipment.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet dining room guests and take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food-handling and sanitation standards.
• Follow up with guests to assist with additional needs or requests.
• Understand menu items and ingredients; advise guests on food and drink combinations when requested, accommodate reasonable requests, note preferences, and demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
• Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
• Communicate effectively and patiently with guests and staff, and work well with others.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Handle personal or medical information shared by guests with sensitivity and confidentiality.
• Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information or complaints to the supervisor.
• Set up the dining room before service and restore it after service, keeping the area clean and meeting sanitation standards.
• Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
• Work with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
