About The Position

A Banquet Server provides professional, efficient food and beverage service during events, ensuring guests feel welcomed and attended to in accordance with event specifications and service standards. The role includes setting up banquet spaces and food and beverage stations, delivering meal service, responding to guest needs, and working collaboratively with kitchen and event staff. Banquet Servers also maintain clean, organized event and front-of-house areas, participate in setup and cleanup, and reset spaces and equipment for subsequent events. The position is part-time, located at the Pueblo Convention Center, pays $15.16–$17.00 per hour, and is tip eligible. The position will remain open until December 31, 2026.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects frequently.
• Ability to carry at least 8 entrees on a tray.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Punctuality and consistent attendance.
• Ability to respond to simple customer complaints or inquiries.

Nice To Haves

• Six months to one year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand banquet event orders.
• Provide fine-dining-level food and beverage service consistent with service standards.
• Maintain friendly and professional contact with guests and anticipate and meet their needs.
• Set up and maintain food and beverage stations in various building locations.
• Maintain inventory for food and beverage stations.
• Keep event areas and front-of-house staging areas tidy and organized.
• Participate in setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items.
• Work independently during slower periods.
• Help create a safe and clean work environment.
• Ensure work is accurate and complete.
• Maintain a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude.
