About The Position

The Portland Sheraton at Sable Oaks is seeking friendly and professional on-call Banquet Servers to provide smooth and efficient food service to guests during events. The role involves setting and maintaining banquet rooms and tables, welcoming and assisting guests, taking and delivering orders, and ensuring food service meets guest expectations and company and brand standards. Servers also clean designated areas, keep sideboards stocked, assist with restaurant tasks, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Set banquet rooms according to banquet event orders and management specifications.
Welcome guests with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly greeting, using guest names whenever possible.
Take guest orders and deliver them to the appropriate person for execution.
Review and understand the event plan at the beginning of each shift.
Maintain knowledge of menu items and their composition.
Deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items.
Ensure food is prepared correctly and to guests’ satisfaction; return incorrect or improperly cooked items to the kitchen.
Collect plates and clear tables as guests finish their meals.
Follow applicable Colwen and brand standards for food and beverage service and comply with state liquor policies.
Clean designated areas according to defined procedures.
Keep sideboards adequately stocked.
Set tables to standards and ensure items are clean and in good repair.
Assist with restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
