About The Position

The Banquet Bartender is responsible for setting up the bar and mixing drinks for guests and servers. The role maintains bar service and cleanliness, supports quality service and guest satisfaction, and helps control liquor inventory. The position is on-call at ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach.

Requirements

• Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages under local and state laws.
• Must be able to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Must maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
• Must be able to stand for the entire shift.
• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Previous bartending experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Process guest checks, collect cash, and process credit card and room-charge payments according to standards.
• Perform opening and closing side work to ensure guests are served promptly and efficiently.
• Prepare beverages and cocktails according to standards for mixing, portion control, and presentation.
• Serve guests’ food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Keep lounge areas clean and tidy.
• Be familiar with the computer system.
• Carry out cashiering functions by closing checks and servicing guests.
• Follow all state liquor laws.
• Assist in maintaining beverage costs.
• Follow procedures for serving liquor responsibly, report concerns about intoxicated guests to management when necessary.
• Complete beverage requisitions as needed to maintain par levels using the bottle-for-bottle method.
• Stock and clean glassware.
• Check that soda tanks are full and properly secured to the bar.
• Prepare all garnishes.
• Assist with cleaning tables and lounge areas as needed.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
