About The Position

Assist the Banquet Manager in serving guests during banquet functions to ensure a positive guest experience. Review Banquet Event Orders, set up and operate portable bars, prepare and serve beverages, follow safety and alcohol-service requirements, and clean and return the bar, equipment, and supplies after events. The role requires guest communication, basic beverage-service knowledge, and the ability to perform the physical tasks involved in bar service.

Requirements

Must communicate well with guests.
Basic knowledge of serving various alcoholic beverages.
Manual dexterity to prepare garnishes, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to understand written product-labeling instructions for safe use of products and processes.
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
Basic mathematical skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Hotel experience or similar experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Review Banquet Event Orders to determine the function, guest count, and bar type.
Set up a portable bar in the function area according to standard policies and procedures.
Prepare and serve drinks in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, following company, state, and hotel beverage and safety procedures.
Comply with State, Federal, and Corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
Remove trash, liquor, and glasses from tables and the function area.
Return the bar to the storeroom; break it down, clean it, wipe its surfaces, and empty its water.
Return equipment and supplies to their proper areas.
Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
